I continue to be impressed by your grace and the way you deal with discrimination. I also agree that Pope Francis is better than his predecessors in speaking about love and acceptance. But, this is still a long way from where the Church should be on the issue of the LGBTQ+ community. The Church still views women as second class citizens in its refusal to allow women priests (and thus no involvement in decision making) and there are still those within the Church trying to cover up pedophilia. I guarantee there will still be priests, bishops and archbishops who refuse to follow this guidance, but I do hope that these individuals become fewer and fewer and fewer.

Charlotte, I continue to appreciate the grace in which you see others. Perhaps because of that mindset, you were able to see the grace that the Pope is also extending. I love your analytical mind and the way you are able to parse truth from emotion. Keep writing!

I appreciate Charlotte's blog *so much*, and I feel this post pretty much encapsulates why. She consistently writes with a strong perspective, but also mindfulness, critical thought, clarity, and strong information skills. As the parent of a trans child and a librarian/teacher, I frequently find myself both grateful and joyful for Charlotte's posts.
