Grift, Revenge and Cruelty. That’s all this administration knows.

Should make for an interesting moment for Trump's gay cadres -- Peter Thiel and Scott Bessant particularly. Don't expect they identify with Harvey; he wasn't their kind of gay.

Doesn’t Hegseth have anything better to do? Utterly shameful. I was around during the Milk years and was so excited about the movement he coalesced. His name will be remembered long after Hegseth’s is forgotten.

The current head of the US Department of Defense is so weak, he is threatened by the memory of a good man who died nearly four decades ago, after nobly serving his community and his country. I'm furious. But the so-called Secretary is pathetic.

Thanks for the nice remembrance of Supervisor Harvey Milk. It is more than shameful that Hegsex is mean-spiritedly renaming a US Navy vessel like this: it is shamefully consistent with everything else going on under his "leadership" of the Defense Department -- and everything else occurring under the Tr$mp regime. We should have locked up #Felon47 for his crimes while we had the chance, and before he could come back and destroy our beloved country.

Many know I can be emotional. And it's who I am.

I am who I am in many ways because of the path Harvey Milk paved for LGBTQ+ people in this country. While there have been many icons in the fight for our rights and to able to existence, he made such a difference for so many and perhaps awakened the activism in me.

While Harvey was like all of us, imperfect, he displayed strength and courage, fighting for all of us. Unlike Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump.

It's no surprise that they want to dampen the joy we can muster during Pride Month. Erase, minimize and eliminate LGBTQ+ people is their playbook. Make us "less then." And like they have so cruelly done with our transgender siblings and fellow citizens, taken away the privilege of serving in the US armed services.

And if you ever hear someone say, we need to stay away from politics -- or to be non-partisan -- think about the LGBTQ+ people you love. And reconsider...

...In other words, be like Harvey.

Pathetic and cruel and honestly just so insecure. I'm also really tired of the so-called Christians who continue to support this cruelty just so they can force women to birth babies.

We shouldn’t be surprised at anything this evil regime does, it has been about hate and retribution for the entire campaign. Hegseth should be ashamed, but unfortunately, he doesn’t have the integrity to be.

Thank you for telling me Harvey Milk's story. I'm European and moved to the US 13 years ago; I'd heard about him, but knew nothing. What an amazing man. And what a nasty little weasel, that Hegseth. He and his ilk will get their just desserts -- though not before time, I fear...

I’m so sorry the LGBTQ community has to go through this gratuitous cruelty.

Absolutely despicable. The level of vitriol is unhinged. It’s all about the cruelty for this administration and their cult followers, even to their own detriment. Well, that is when it isn’t about the grift.

I can’t believe he even has the power to rename a ship. I would have thought if that were an option the toddler-in-chief would have renamed the SS John McCain!
