Admiration and affection for you as always, Charlotte. And. There are many many many of us who can’t get out to a No Kings protest today: illness, handicap, transportation, fears. Please remember us and include us in the fight. We’re here, we’re participating, we’re with all of you. Please don’t include us out.
Thank you for your work Stephanie! I just sent postcards to voters in the Charlottesville area, so I'm hoping and praying for a wonderful outcome for your state!! (I'm from a rural town in CA)
I took that same oath 50 years ago and today I joined my fellow citizens at my local No Kings protest to affirm my commitment to this country, not a wannabe dictator. Thank you for your excellent writings, fellow soldier!
I just got back from attending a No Kings Protest in St Louis County. I've been to other protests but the turnout far surpassed anything I'd seen before - thousands of protestors, all ages, all sizes. We were on the side of a busy road and the vast majority of passing cars honked, waved, held US flags and some even had their own signs. It was great.
As always my friend thank you for your service. I too vividly remember both times I spoke the oath as enlisted and at my commissioning. Neither times would I have imagined where we are today.
The West Hollywood CA protest I participated in today was a vision of America as it should be: thousands of old, young. White, Black, Latino, Asian, straight and LGBTQ+, all joyous, loving America.
Thank you so much Charlotte! This is a wonderful piece as always. I was part of the demonstrations in our tiny rural town north of San Francisco. Saw some great signs, and was uplifted by all the people who gathered in an instant beloved community for the common good of our precious country, for healing, for hope, for faith, for the power of We the People to turn this around, whatever it takes. Blessings to you and everyone incuding the ones who weren't able to get out there today.
I’m 73 & my BBF & I protested in ruby red Kalispell, Montana, with over a THOUSAND people of all backgrounds, ages, religions, colors, & political beliefs. It was AWESOME. We started protesting this shitshow regime a year prior to his first *presidency* & met on the main street with signs every Tuesday in both heat & blizzards. It became increasingly dangerous (assholes driving up onto the curb, nasty verbal threats, intimidation with guns) but we stuck it out.
It was great to have four years of normalcy, but here we are again. I will NEVER stop protesting these nazi’s.

I had to attend required training today to be an election official for our Virginia primary on Tuesday. Otherwise, I would have been out there.

Yes, Marcia. Many of us would if we physically could. I hope people realize that. My husband is out there representing our household today.

Thank you, Charlotte! And you can assure that optometrist that you do make us proud, each, and every day.
Thank you for your service and for your wonderful Substack. I'm sending this from the No Kings protest in Boulder, Colorado. We're in this together.
Heading out now. I solemnly swear. We can do this! Thank you Charlotte.

I took my oath 40 years ago. Proudly supported Only Queens, No Kings in New Orleans.
