I'm with you all the way! I am going to send this article to my family and friends. There have, unfortunately, been wild disagreements, ultimatums given, damning to hell, and plain craziness in my circle, and I'm finished engaging in the discussion. Your post says EXACTLY the message I've been trying to communicate. Only it projects it in such a clear, concise, and forceful way that the message cannot be misunderstood.
Thank you so much for this. I wish more people would publicly speak out. So many people are afraid to say this, including myself. It has been heartbreaking both to know the suffering folks are facing, and to know so many people are okay with people suffering.
This. Thank you. I'm constantly frustrated by the "us vs them" narrative.
I watched three college students speak with Nicolle Wallace on MSNBC and am appalled that the rhetoric has crossed the line from one-side-or-the-other to active threats of violence (and sometimes actual acts). College is the place where young people learn that the world is a lot bigger and more complicated than their home environments, and the binary thinking is harming everyone.
Well put, Charlotte! Israel has begun daily 4 hour cease fires to aid in the exodus / aid of civilians. It would warm my heart to see other local countries facilitating some of that as well.
Amen, selah, kol hakavod. Look to the helpers- you're a helper..(Let's please not stand on the left side of escalators. I will still pray, in my own way, for those who do, but let's not).
This Jewish grandmother (aka bubbie) thanks you profoundly for your clear, beautifully written rant.
Thank you for being the voice of reason and empathy, Charlotte. The sports team mentality is really discouraging.
YES! THIS!!! Thank you, Charlotte!
You are brave in so many ways and you demonstrate it in your writing. This is so powerful.
Beautifully said.

Because you asked: 1000% I agree. Insisting people pick sides takes away from the fact that you need both to make a coin.
In this case-the coin is humanity. There is never an excuse for being inhumane. Period.

You are absolutely not alone.
I love and appreciate your perspective, Charlotte. Count me all in on Team Civilian with you.

With you 100%.
