I wish the DNC would make an ad with video of various Rs hiding, running and shrinking in fear on January 6. It should be aired with a voiceover of segments of all the speeches - including Lindsey Graham's - denouncing the insurrection, and laying its blame on Trump.

Really missing Tim Russert.

God's honest truth, Charlotte... Tim Russert would have chewed Stefanik up and spit her remains all over the desk. We sooooo need a Russert, a Cronkite, a Chet Huntley right now. I despair, especially now that Mehdi Hassan is no longer on the air. :(

"Somewhat effective." Corporate speak for you're not getting a raise and should start to look elsewhere. 🙃 CNN will probably reward her namby-pamby performance. At least Margaret Brennan challenges the lies.

I don't have cable any more because I refuse to pay for Fox News and so many other channels that I never watched. I do subscribe to numerous streaming services and read articles in major news journals, newspapers, websites and on Substack. I'm still on Twitter and can see what's happening on the news shows, but I only have to digest a couple of minutes of what's been said. I'm a retired academic and taught graduate level ethics courses for years. I always pointed out that coming to an ethical conclusion is much easier in the classroom because your job, career, mortgage payments, children's future, etc., are not on the line. I agree with you on Kristin Welker's work with Stafanik and I believe that if you're going to do an interview, then do an interview not a political ad. We don't know what the "deal" was when Welker was hired to replace Todd, but I was glad to see him leave. It's very difficult to be outspoken, especially when The Morning Show (good show but fiction) makes it appear that women can speak their minds and still get raises and promotions, although it does show the politics of working in this industry. I'm not defending Welker's work, but I understand the allure of trying to make the position work. I too miss Tim Russert, but he was a white male with a totally different power structure.
