Charlotte this is absolutely beautiful. The past weeks have been atrocious for the LGBTQ communities, and this piece is so full of grace. That you could write this now is a testament to your kindness and generosity. I so appreciate you.

As always thank you for another heart-filling essay. It's been a rough couple weeks for sure, and finding the small, meaningful, hopeful things is paramount for looking forward. Sending positivity and virtual hugs your way from the PNW.

As part of my coping strategy for navigating this era as a trans woman, I’ve told myself over and over that people like that gentleman do exist. I have to believe that underneath all the bigotry in the world are a critical mass of people who just need a little education and compassion. I admire your kindness and willingness to talk about these topics with strangers. Thanks for sharing this story!

I just subscribed. I too have had questions and luckily I have thoughtful friends who have helped me understand. My sister helped too. This post is remarkable because it proves that people do want to understand. If they are a thoughtful human being, they will reach out. Often times a stranger is easier to talk to, they are more open to listening because someone is taking the time to talk about it vs. a family member or friend judging them. Kudos to you.

Thank you for sharing this. I'm always inspired by your compassion and humanity. I'm sorry to hear you're struggling. There's a lot to feel anxious about, for sure. We will continue to work to create change and hold each other up.

I’ve noticed your Web Thoughts absence, I’ve missed you. This little nugget is amazing. I hope this encounter helps you through these dark times.

Thank you for this post. Governments that hate on people who are different have no place in society. It is heartening to know that Los Angeles County is banning government travel to Texas and Florida. Kindness will ultimately prevail!
