I ddi cast my vote for Mr. Schiff. I was convinced years ago with his conviction when speaking during the impeachment trials. He’s a rare politician these days, who actually believes in the idea of America, and cares enough to do the work.
I find it encouraging that this contest has three qualified Democrats running for the Senate position. I don't live in CA, but I have watched all three in Congress. I was very impressed with Rep. Schiff's work during the impeachment hearings and I agree that he does his homework. He also has the ability to be passionate without being overly emotional; he doesn't throw out soundbites or resort to name calling; his arguments are logical and well-developed. It's not surprising that McCarthy went after him as Rep. Schiff is capable of showing how shallow Republicans are.
Charlotte, I lived in Burbank for 29 years and Adam was my representative in Congress for much of that time. He does the hard work out in the district, attending community events and actually listening to his constituents just like he did with you. I was on the Board of Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and he attended the Gold Award ceremony (similar to Eagle Scout) every year, where he’d walk among the girls talking to them about their projects and meeting the parents. He was also a huge supporter of the local Armenian community. I live in South Orange County now (where we flipped the 49th district blue in 2018) and am thrilled to vote for Adam for our open Senate seat. He’s earned my vote! Katie Porter is fantastic too and will be a force in California politics for many years to come.
i love that you've "discovered" Adam Schiff. And I love how earnest and deeply authentic your voice is. It is so obvious how much you care about the LGBTQ community and the country, and having all of us do our best for each other. It is a joy to read / listen to your writing, and to have you as a leader for democracy and human rights.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with Sen. Schiff, Charlotte. I'm glad to know this about how he does his work and the kind of person he is. We need more like him in the House and Senate!

I admired him until he pulled the disgraceful stunt of promoting Garvey in order to eliminate his worthy Dem rivals. That “strategy” is ugly.
Especially considering that the two rivals were deserving Dem women who had long paid their dues!
Ooh, goosebumps. Smart, empathetic, strong, and hasn't been eaten alive in Washington. Fingers crossed.
