My only quibble with this theory is his astronomical narcissism. He's never going to ride off quietly into the sunset, he must be the center of everyone's attention at all times. Now, if it's not coming from him, but Stephen Miller is orchestrating a forced exit ... That wouldn't surprise me.

This was my reaction. I really cannot imagine Trump wanting this option - pardon or no, especially as any pardon would only be at the federal level and he would be subject to state-level prosecution still. Nor can I see such a narcissist being willing to go quietly if his Cabinet are considering forcing him out with the 25th Amendment. They know he's physically and mentally degrading in a way that no sane washing or propaganda can completely cover for too much longer even with people swallowed by the disinformation bubble, but I cannot imagine he wouldn't loudly decry any attempt.

Perhaps his handlers think the Epstein uproar will allow them to transfer the MAGA faithful's loyalty to them. This seems unlikely to say the least. I can't imagine a humorless, charisma-free automaton like Vance, for starters, stepping in and being warmly embraced. The idea of President Vance, though, is quite terrifying.

It's an interesting idea, and I can hardly discount wondering about what an anomaly it is in practice. But Trump leaving just does not seem likely to be quiet or willingly accepted for me to not want to pull harder at the threads.

I could not agree with you more. Something's up and his leaving/being pardoned, etc. is a very believable scenario.

Charlotte, something is definitely up. Beyond shocking that press barbie would lay out medical details. But here's the catch: essentially saying he has poor circulation but not saying why. Jumped over that. Swollen feet ankles and lower legs are almost always linked to cardio strain/failure/not working. I've had cardio challenges and know this stuff. The makeup on his wrists is because he has blood thinner bruises. Very common. He is on blood thinners if has cardio failure concerns. 1000 percent.

As soon as I started reading the medical report, my reaction was the same - this is not something they ever did during any of the campaigns, during his first term, and certainly with respect to his having Covid, when there should have been full disclosure. And I am also with you with respect to not wanting to go down the conspiracy trail, but when they do not give you truth, you look for it somewhere.

Didn't VIperVance post something about a big announcement on his socials recently? Donny Two Dolls has no interest in governing, no idealogical dog in the fight, no sense of "value." If he did one could (maybe???) understand his positions. but that diagnosis is totally apt: he is venal to the core, interested only profit and self-aggrandizement. So "ill" --> martyr --> pardoned --> cavort in MarAlago with the plastic-face people. Hashtag Donny wins. I hate it so damn much & I think you're right.

And he was probably never intended to serve his entire term, so this fits.

Yeah. I just didn't think it would happen so soon (not even a year into his "presidency").

I must underscore having had a bad heart year (not as bad as Trump etc) and a wife who is a doctor that if an old man walked into a doc's office or urgent care with extremely swollen ankles he would be on his way to the hospital. Bright red flag for cardio and venous failure.

Charlotte, it may not be so far fetched. I’ve had the same thoughts myself but kinda couldn’t figure out about the pardon.

Bruise on hand from shaking too many hands? Seriously? When has the germaphobe done that, if ever? That bruise is from a needle administering…something.

I think you can explain away the swollen ankles because don't bone spurs dig into you and cause you to swell up? Even if spurs are made out of bone, they're meant to do damage, right? And he's had those bone spurs for over half a century. So. That explains that.

I think it would be very unfair of you not to see the swollen ankles as evidence of his Vietnam era service to this country.

Interesting hypothesis, Charlotte. Though I would not miss him were he to leave the office, I wonder if this is a "better the devil you know" situation. I mean, it could be worse.
