Thank you for shedding light on this woman's remark. I am not a religious person, but I am pretty sure that Jesus didn't say "well, I only heal the sick if they are working" or "I only heal the sick who can pay me in loaves and fishes" and etc etc. So many(all?) of the GOP seem to have forgotten what I thought was the cardinal rule: love thy neighbor as thyself. So, like, if ol' Jodi were sick, should we just scoff and say "sweetie, ya gotta die sometime?" Argh. Argh. Argh. Going now to make a donation to her opponent.

Excellent commentary. Thanks, Charlotte, for your always persuasive presentation of issues -- and for calling attention to Zach Wahl's candidacy. I donated (of course)!

Terrible, just terrible. Is she trying for the “Kristi Noem Sympathy award?

But I’m glad to hear about Zack. I was happy to find out he was in state government and pleased he’s running for Senate.

She's now officially in the "Dumber Than Tuberville Competition" for recognition as the dumbest person in the Senate. It must be said, however, that Tuberville still has a commanding lead in the contest.

It's the Maga Murder Budget and it will kill people.

Thank you for your commentary and also for bringing Zach Wahl's to our attention.

What gets me about Ernst's comment is this isn't just about "we all die", it is about dying with *dignity*. Joni wouldn't understand how tough that is without state sponsored health care for life.

I read over 60% of Assisted Living institutions depend heavily on Medicaid. They will have to shut down without that revenue. Which means even those who can pay the full ride will be losing their place to live, because they can't pay for the entire building and staff on their own. They depend as much on the Medicaid as anyone else.

So tossing Medicaid out is going to result in an awful lot of the most vulnerable elderly being homeless. These are the people that can't get through the mountains of paperwork to prove they should get a waiver from the requirement to work--so they get thrown out into the streets or begging to live in their kids' basements or guest room.

Granny is coming, people, so get ready.

And this doesn't even touch on the poor kids' lives it will utterly destroy.

In short, this affects everyone in the United States except for the rich fat elitist politicians like Joni who have lifetime health coverage from our government.

Thank you, Charlotte. This reminds me of the Impact Counter that tracks deaths caused by cuts.

May compassion grow where it has not yet arisen and never decline but increase more and more.

Thank you for sharing that chart. Those numbers, especially for children, are shocking.
