Thank you Charlotte. You are nicer than I am Charlotte. I am mad as hell people are treating President Biden like he's not in the room. How sad and disgusting. And I will be mad as hell if they force him to step down. And I may never forgive them. But I know what is at stake.

Bravo. This sense of injustice is hard to stomach. I've cut off all mainstream media outlets who are complicit in giving the other side a free pass while attacking the president or printing headlines that infer the worst, while sugarcoating headlines on the other guy.

If Biden does resign, he better get a hero's welcome at the DNC - not because he dropped out, but merely because of the steady leadership and investment in people and the planet he has shown in his four years as president.

I completely agree with you, and am scared spitless that people beyond my control will throw away our best chance to win.

Somewhere, the saying "dance with the one what brung ya" stuck in my head, and that's what I intend to do. Biden may have his age-related issues, but he is still sharp as hell on foreign policy, domestic policy, and a host of other things that the other candidate can't even SPELL. As I listened to Wolf Blitzer grill Chris Coons about Biden & his decision to stay in the race, I found myself getting progressively more angry. Coons said, unequivocally, that Biden is staying in the race. Period. At least three different times, in three different ways, Blitzer asked the same damn question. For CNN to go this route is reprehensible, at best, and smacks of 2016 at worst.

Yes, I strongly feel that the media circus in 2016, with their constant highlighting of every small, niggling possible negative robbed us of our first woman president. Not only that, but it gave us an unqualified buffoon whose stupidity cost almost a million American lives during the pandemic. We all know who saved our bacon, and it wasn't the GOP candidate, nor was it any of the people who are being bandied about as replacements. It was the man who, for better or worse, won the Democratic primary race. He deserves to have the support of the ENTIRE Democratic party and shame on us if he doesn't get it.

I used that same line somewhere, go home with the guy that brought you …….

Thank you for being a voice of kindness and reason. Like Susan Y, I am mad as hell at the way President Biden is being treated. But I know that a state of anger isn’t necessarily the best way to live life. You are, to me, a beacon of hope and I admire you enormously.

My choice is Biden/the Dems, up and down the ticket. There is no other legit option.

"All of us have a choice, and I trust that there are more than enough us, regardless of how we personally feel the ticket should look, to come together and choose a future that sends Trump and Project 2025 right into the trash bin of history where they belong." That is absolutely the goal and we all have to get behind that. I'm also all in for Biden-Harris, and I'll vote Blue up and down the ballot in November. I'm a practical person, who tries to use logic, not emotion, when making decisions. We simply don't have time to play fantasy football now and make the assumption that "everything will be okay." Besides all the issues Charlotte brought up, Replacing Biden at this point also means he immediately becomes a lame duck who won't be able to negotiate on any legislation or effectively deal with any leader of any foreign country. That would not be good. Now that we know that Vance is Trump's VP (I knew he'd pick a white man) we also have so much anti-women material on Vance including all the anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-trans hatred. There are more registered women voters and I think most of the media and politicos have underestimated us. And, if you want to have some fun, tell the men in your lives that Project 2025 also wants to get rid of condoms, as well as any other type contraception, and eliminate all porn.

This. This right here: “the frustrating prioritization of entertainment over substance, intrigue over clarity, ratings over republic, drama over democracy.” 😖😫😩

Very well written, sane, and logical. I liked that you addressed the issue without the stridency or histrionics I’ve seen in so many other takes (from either point of view) the past few weeks. I think it’s a bad idea to change horses mid-stream and I don’t see how someone new gains enough traction and support. I fear the convention will look like chaos where we shoot ourselves in the foot repeatedly. I’ll vote blue no matter who but man am I disenchanted with the constant state of FUBAR with this party.

We are back to the 1950's with white men and a few women telling the rest of us what is right for us. Doesn't matter who we voted for, they know better. I will continue to do all that I can until November, but after that, those "power" folk can get *&^(( ; I am done.

The problem is, in part, that Dems question ourselves and each other. I am 100% behind Biden. We need to see our differences not as splitting the party but as being willing to have the difficult conversations.

That said, we really need to focus the country on the nightmare that is Trump, Vance, The Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 and Agenda 47. We may have no sway over the media but that doesn’t mean we can’t force the conversation

However….Ugh! This sucks.
