In addition to your writing skills, I subscribe to this newsletter so I can learn and I certainly learned a lot with today's edition. It's also so tragic that one of the reasons DeSantis and FL are so into anti-wokeness and Don't Say Gay (or anything else they don't like) is because if you can't talk about these issues you don't have to work to solve the problems. I think it's a combination of systemic racism and systemic misogyny that causes so much pain for Black women and pregnant people, as well as their families.
I love your sports stories. Your baseball story made me a patron. An underdog myself, I published PAPER BAGS, a story of gender fluidity at 77. It takes guts to promote a trans love story while living in the “Don’t Say Gay” State of Florida.
