I have responded to every text, post and email from the Democrats wanting money that I am lost to them and they will not get a dime from me. I am livid that Democrats rolled over. I know it was only 10, but even one of my own, Amy Klobuchar waited until the last possible minute to announce her no vote. I am appalled by what is happening in our government, but I am really pissed at the Democrats. I wonder if it isn't time for the Tea Party of the Left.

Yes.

They're elected to lead.

And I feel like we keep being told that if only we donate more money, if only we call more and email more and show up more, then maybe, just maybe, they will find the courage to possibly, perhaps, do something.

This is exhausting.

They were elected to lead. It is their job.

If you hired a contractor to paint your house, no one would expect you to have to call the contractor's office 5x a day and beg them to get their employees to start doing the work you hired them for, while they text you throughout the day asking you to put down deposits for future jobs.

I have sent emails to both of my senators (Adam Schiff, Alex Padilla) letting them know that until Chuck Schumer is no longer majority leader in the Senate, the only Democratic Candidates that are getting my campaign contribution dollars are the ones that are launching primary challenges on incumbents.

There are 45 members of the Democratic Party Caucus in the US Senate. That means 23 of them can oust the minority leader. Klobuchar, Duckworth, Warren, Murphy: these are all people that might actually be willing to *lead*, and not just take up space.

It's time for a change.

FFS, look at Bernie. He's stuck by his guns for decades now. It's really not that hard to do.

Girl, would you do me a huge favor and walk down the street to the White House and be President? We’ll ask AOC to be VP, Jasmine Crockett to be Ambassador to the World, and my cousin Bernie to be Secretary of State (or whatever he wants- he can be a bit cranky, as you know). I’ve been a Democrat all my life as were my parents before me. I’m thinking I need a new party that has a spine, can articulate a bold vision, and then have the determination and audacity to fight for it. Seriously, I’m thinking about how to step away from this milquetoast, bland, and pablum-drinking party the Dems have become.

THANK YOU! I don't pretend to understand the demands and requirements of a Senator but FFS, develop a plan and implement it.

There are probably enough project managers following you that we could put together a project plan for them in no time, if our elected representatives are just going to flail around.

I signed the petition and called one of my senators today and will call the other tomorrow to insist that Schumer step aside. I agree this one change will not resolve the problem with the Democratic leadership lacking a vision, but I think it’s an essential first step. Thanks for this piece and for all of your writing and analysis. I appreciate you.

I agree with you 100%! Yeah, one of my Democrat US Senator from my state voted yes on the CR. I’m very disappointed. I’m not donating any $$$ to the Democrat politicians(senators and representatives) here where I live.

I’ve felt and commented for a long time that Schumer has been all talk and no action. We need a leader who can lead us in this fight. Enough with his daily talking. He can say whatever he wants, but without focused action it is only words.

I agree with you. Schumer is not leading. He is not speaking up for Americans. And we already know that "Republicans are worse than we are" is not a winning strategy. We need an actual plan and a leader who can communicate that plan.
