When I tell you that while reading that article I looked like a fish gasping for water, I am not exaggerating. For any vet who’s ever held a security clearance, (or any rational human for that matter) this is astounding in its incompetence and buffoonery. I am still, hours later, aghast.

Hegseth lied and said it never happened and Trump is "playing" dumb, pretending he doesn't know anything about it. I agree that Democrats need to play this whole fiasco on a loop and demand some resignations. People who adhere to morals, ethics and rules would admit to their mistake and resign. Unfortunately, Republicans pull a Trump - lie, deflect and pretend it didn't happen.

This is so unbelievably bad, I’m just speechless. The sheer incompetence is beyond the pale. Will anyone be held accountable? Doubtful. We’re in serious trouble.

If this isn't the line for Republicans, where is it?

I don't know if I want to find out ... or if I don't want to find out.

There is no line. Didn't Trump have documents and a copy machine in a bathroom at Mara Lago?

Did anyone follow up on the firings of JAGs at the beginning of Hegseth's tenure "so they don't get in the way," again according to Hegseth? Is there a viable internal military law system in place now? If yes, who mans it?

Agree with you completely. The incompetence is mind blowing. Though the comments I’ve seen that they perhaps used it to avoid record keeping laws is to me even scarier.(Signal messages can be set to disappear at a particular point in time and JG said these messages were.)

If these high ranking government officials are plotting upfront to prevent records of their actions and defeat possible FOIL requests what else are they hiding? Where else are they preventing eventual discovery of their actions?

This action on top of the games they are playing in repeated hearings before Judge Boasberg re the deportations show a complete and callous disregard for our systems of government that are in place to prevent exactly what is happening. Where is the outrage from Congress? From Republicans who paint themselves as law and order patriots? From Democrats who should be screaming from the rooftops? How about those “originalist” Supreme Court justices? It’s all appalling and so disheartening.

One of the commentators on last night was Retired General Barry McGaffney. He did not think it was a one time thing and thought it could well have been done on purpose to avoid creating an official record. That is even scarier!

When I saw this news I was appalled. As an AF Chaplain I held a Top Secret SCI twice during my twenty-one years on Active duty. During my last assignment I was asked if I wanted to observe a UAV mission. I politely declined to observe and my response was that I didn't really wish to watch something like that as a Chaplain and that I didn't have a "need to know" reason for observing. They completely understood my reasoning and respected it. The dipshittery that the drunken fool created is mind boggling.
