I totally agree. Many Democrats have been critical of the MSM disparate coverage of Biden and Trump. Seth Abramson, who can go down some rabbit holes, wrote :"American corporate media needs to stop. It is arrogantly, unprofessionally, and even shamefully trying to shape the news it should be reporting on by demanding President Joe Biden’s head on a platter." I have to agree with this. And, as Charlotte speaks about trust remember that this election is all about trust now. Who do you trust in the Oval Office now that the President will have absolute and presumptive immunity. Which candidate has values, ethics and morals. Beginning with the Citizens United and Holder decisions, including Dobbs and immunity, the Supreme Court has been deciding cases that will allow for a smooth implementation of Project 2025. So, who do you trust?
Perfectly put. Thank you. People act like a president is an Emperor and forget that he doesn't operate as a lone entity. The cabinet and staff President Biden has around him carry a lot of the weight at his direction and he has great people around him. I trust him to continue adding a broad spectrum of the population to leadership roles so all our needs are all represented.
Truthfully, I was cringing reading the headline to this thoughtful piece. Thank you so much for not going where many in the media are daring to go. Joe Biden has done a tremendous job of lifting the nation out of the COVID nightmare, and of ensuring that the country didn't immediately plunge into a full-on recession. I'm still ridin' with Biden. 😁❤️
Thank you for having Biden’s back. He wasn’t my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice either, but he’s more than earned my trust in him as the best, most successful president we’ve had since FDR.
Yes, yes, yes!!! Joe has been a remarkable force for good. He, and we, must stand and fight. Thank you, Charlotte, for taking your moment of clarity and focus with him to teach us all about the key importance of character and compassion. I stand with Joe.
Thank you for this. I want to scream it from the rooftops, especially in the faces of prominent democrats who are suggesting he step aside. Including Pelosi and Raskin. Let’s stop the bullshit and circular firing squad and go win this. We have to. And we will.
Excellent article! I have nothing new to share other than I agree with you that it isn’t just because I like Joe Biden that I believe in him. He’s proven to me, and I hope a large percentage of the people, that he he’s capable, caring, decent, and honorable. He won’t use the newly minted powers bestowed by SCOTUS for his own personal or political gain. I trust him. That’s the bottom line for me. He inspires trust.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this beautiful anecdote about meeting Joe Biden. It really meant a lot to me. I want so much to believe that he can continue to be that leader. But more than anything I know we must defend our democracy by defeating Donald Trump. Ugh. Anyhow, thank you for continuing to write and share your thoughts. They mean so much to me.
I had two or three people ahead of Biden in 2020, as well. But I gladly voted for him and have largely been pleasantly surprised with how he’s done as President. I will vote for him in November. And I will do so because it’s not about only him. And I am comfortable knowing VP Harris will take the reins if he can’t complete his second term. And ultimately, I think his advisors, and he himself, will know that staying upon the ballot is really the only course of action. How they manage that and manage him is going to be interesting.
I don’t think another debate is in order, and I thought that before all the recent stuff. I didn’t think he should have agreed to debate in the first places but, rock/hard place.
The logistics of changing a candidate at this time are chilling. No guarantee of a new ticket being on ballots in some states, non-transferable campaign funds, having to choose a new VP candidate.
All I know is that trump has a blood lust, as do many of his supporters. And I’m sure my fellow Americans will not be able to handle the reality of a televised military tribunal or worse.
Thank you, as always, Charlotte, for your always-beautiful writing, fierce courage, and audacious hope in the face of much darkness. We are with you, and I for one am proudly working with you for a Biden victory. ❤️
One proofreading callout--under your photo of yourself and Biden, did you intend to type the year 2019 vs. 2002?

Thank you for calmly speaking up.
