He was a terrible, terrible person. A perfect example of so-called "Christians" acting in the absolutely most un-Christlike way. As Mark Twain said (more or less), I didn't wish him dead, but I read his obituary with pleasure.

"...a decayed soul." Perfectly worded title and reflection.

I’m impressed with your restraint. Not surprised though. It was an excellent piece and he didn’t deserve the grace you treated him with.

Pat Robertson exemplified and represented the worst of evangelical Christianity. He and other tele- evangelists of the same ilk are responsible for corrupting the faith of many. His judgement day has finally come. His influence has hurt and endangered too many marginalized people.

Pat Roberson will have arrived at the Pearly Gates and Saint Peter will say “Sorry, you are not on the list”.

As a lesbian who saw the effects of this rhetoric on my LGBTQ family, I hope he burns in hell.

I asked my daughter ‘do you think he was surprised to wake up in hell?’

If there is an after-life, and if there is a reckoning in that after-life, I am hoping he gets everything that is coming to him.

As a granddaughter of a Southern Baptist preacher, I have rejected what I was brought up to think of the world. Pat Robertson is, hopefully, getting the lesson of his life standing at the pearly gates...as they pull the handle for the trapdoor to where he will be going for the afterlife. Thank you for your graceful and thoughtful contributions Charlotte.

This sums up my thoughts on the man beautifully. Pat Robertson was one of the engines behind the descent of American society into division caused by prejudice and bigotry. Maybe God can forgive him for his sins; I don't think I can.

Well said. He sowed so much hate- he used the Bible as a destructive tool, twisting its words to serve his destructive agenda. I admire your level head and

the love you have in your heart. 🙏🏻

I like to think of him as decayed sole, due to the fishy stench he emitted for 93 years. And if the people he decried were actually powerful enough to cause all the calamities he blamed us for, well, I'd wager he'd likely not have survived to 93.

You have much more restraint than I. "Good riddance" is pretty much all I can muster.

I’m enjoying immense satisfaction imagining the discussion Jesus is having with this racist, homophobic bigot today.

You offered more grace for this turd of a man than I could, dear Charlotte. I strive to be more like you.
