Ouch! That was a terrific take on Hakeem Jeffries' tweet from last week... Superbly crafted, Charlotte!
I was heartened to hear several prayers offered this morning at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco - my home church for 25+ years - that we have the courage and wisdom to speak out on behalf of mercy, justice, and compassion and against Tr$mp 2.0's raging fascist monkey wrench.
It's all so bloody stupid. Warned repeatedly that the zombie pachyderms WOULD be rampaging should certain events occur, the barest majority of those who cared to exercise their voting rights ignored said warnings. Unfortunately, warnings were virtually all our leadership had to offer. Strategy, plans for opposition, tactics which would stymie or even reverse the rampaging beasts seem to be nonexistent. Methinks, perhaps, it might be time for a change in leadership, eh?
"the frothing mastodons" -- Obligatory 'great band name' reference.
This is the most imaginative and passionate of all the hand-wringing I've read; thank you. But what is that actual <next> step anyone should be taking?
At some point, naming the feckless and calling out the hapless and shaming the idle officeholders has to give way -- leaving them in the dust, and actually moving forward to meet the danger. How, though?
Pitch perfect!!! So dang on the money. You’ve managed to sum up what I’ve been struggling to put in to words. Cheers friend.
I’m pretty sure I heard a US Senator from Maine say the zombie elephants have learned their lesson so there’s no need for any of us to be concerned.
Isn't Senator Collins one of the zombie elephants? ;-)
Needs to be read through a bullhorn on the steps of the Capitol, straight through the feckless Democratic leadership's windows.
Perfect.
In between dissociation and despair, I can't get over how stupid it is.
🎯 Yes!
Leader Jeffries (and others) do you hear us?!
Thanks, Charlotte!
Perfect!
Spot on Charlotte. Thank you.

We dare not speak of the zombie elephant in the room.

I like the sass. 👏👏👏
So true!

Charlotte, please correct me if I'm wrong, but you sound mildly aggrieved.
Took me a minute. Coffee hasn’t quite kicked in. Wow!
Bravo, Charlotte!! Bravo
